March is National Nutrition Month!

Healthy eating = healthy, better learners. A balanced diet requires the following:

Grains (breads, pastas, potatoes, rice)—6 servings a day

Fruits and Vegetables --- 5-9 servings a day

Dairy Products --- 3-4 servings a day

Meats—2-3 servings a day

Water--- at least 8 glasses a day

 

Remember, breakfast is the MOST important meal of the day! Choose cereals low in sugar and high in fiber with low-fat milk and your favorite fruit.

Our lunches at MIS are well-balanced, providing the essential vitamins and minerals growing bodies need.

Try to prepare and enjoy a family dinner as often as you can, even though our hectic schedules can make that difficult sometimes. Fast foods just don’t provide the healthy ingredients our bodies need to thrive on.

Try to follow these guidelines as the children prepare for their upcoming academic achievement tests. We desire that ALL our children will succeed in ALL areas!
